Java Skywars Developer Update - Jan 18th[]

Skywars[]

Java Cakewars Update - Jan 23rd[]

  • [Added] Insta-Wall! These blocks when placed on the ground generate a 3x3 wall in the direction you are looking.
  • [Added] Bat-Anticamping! This prevents players from staying under the map for extended periods of time.

  • [Changed] Changed the passive ability to 1 Wool every 5 seconds with a max of 32 and 1 deploy platform every 10 seconds, max of 8.
  • [Changed] Reduced the knockback of Frosting's snowballs by 50%.

Fixes[]

  • [Fixed] Left clicking the shop villagers with a sword no longer opens the shop menu.
  • [Fixed] Players can no longer purchase lower tier items (ie iron armour) when you already have higher tier items equipped (ie diamond armour).
  • [Fixed] If you are killed but your team still wins after your death, you do not lose your win streak. If you quit, you will still lose it. Switching servers quickly may cause an incorrect value to appear, though your win streak will have been applied correctly.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where Game Summary did not show the correct value of how many shards you earned.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where lobbies turned nighttime.

Hotfix - Feb. 1st[]

General[]

  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where players could get items out of the preferences menu.

Skywars[]

  • [Removed] Removed wooden swords from tier 1 chests.
  • [Removed] Removed sticks from tier 3 chests.
  • [Added] Added glass to tier 2 and 3 chests.
  • [Changed] When arrows are found in tier 3 chests they now will be in stacks of 6 to 10 instead of 4 to 8.
  • [Changed] Increased the chance of finding miscellaneous items in tier 3 chests, for example experience bottles, mushroom stews, ender pearls, water buckets etc...
  • [Changed] Reduced the chance of finding lava buckets in any chest.
  • [Changed] Breaking a chest now drops it's contents on the ground.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where Fire Burst wouldn't always damage the right players.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where Zombie Guardian's armor would decay.
  • [Changed] Increased the damage Zombie Guardian's take from explosions from 2.5 hearts to 4 hearts.

SG Developer Update - Feb. 8th[]

General[]

  • [Added] Added a new map Tropia!
  • [Added] Added a new World Map that shows the border, supply drops and the location of your team mates!
  • [Changed] Supply drops now have a new visual look.
  • [Changed] Updated the scoreboard to display player/team statistics.
  • [Changed] The majority of kit abilities and passives are disabled in the first 30 seconds of the game.
  • [Changed] Changed how the game cycle functions, the border now increases it's speed every time a player is killed. Though deathmatch has now been removed to allow more strategic play using the map to your advantage.

Bug fixes[]

  • [Changed] All Power Play Club rewards that are 6 months or older are now available in Omega Chests. At the time of this update, everything up to and including the Melon Head morph is available.
  • [Changed] Balloons received a complete rewrite this update fixing a lot of the issues with them:
    • [Fixed] Balloons no longer “blow in the wind” just sway slightly.
    • [Fixed] Balloons no longer create hundreds of dropped lead items.
    • [Changed] Reduced the maximum balloon limit from 10 to 3.

Survival Games Update[]

  • [Changed] Hilt smash damaged reduced from 1 to 0.5 hearts.
  • [Changed] Reduce the cooldown on explosive arrow from 8 seconds to 6 seconds
  • [Changed] Reduce TNT damage in water from doing 50% less to 40% less.
  • [Changed] Axeman's throwing axes have a recharge time of 1 seconds. You can throw axes within this time, but it will do less damage. For example, throwing an axe 0.5 second after throwing your last axe will deal 50% damage rather than 100% damage after 1 second.
  • [Changed] Barbarian's now receive regeneration regeneration 1 for 5 seconds after a kill.
  • [Changed] Increase cleave’s radius from 1.5 blocks to 2 blocks (needs testing)

Block Hunt Developer Update - Apr. 12th[]

Block Hunt[]

  • [Changed] Hunters now have separated wins in the stats menu.

Chat Suffix Commands[]

Mission Developer Update - Jul. 5th[]

Missions[]

  • [Changed] Players are now given 5 daily missions and 3 weekly missions.
  • [Changed] Daily missions are reset at 12am UTC every day and weekly missions are reset at 12am UTC on Mondays.
  • [Changed] Only missions that are complete or have been discarded are replaced. Players can mark missions as discarded if they wish to receive a new one the next time missions are reset.
  • [Added] Added special event missions. These limited time, one use missions will sometimes appear to promote a new/updated game.
  • [Changed] Completely reworked mission tracking, so all missions now track correctly.
  • [Changed] Similar to game rewards, ranked players receive more shards, Ultra +50%, Hero +100%, Legend +150%, Titan +200%, Eternal +250%. Missions have been balanced to ensure that a fair number of shards is given.
  • [Changed] Renamed the slime to Sam The Slime. Not at all self promotion for the developer.

Team Balancing[]

  • [Changed] Reworking the team priority system (priority first to /team, then parties, sheep queue, friends, and emptiest team).

Voting[]

  • [Changed] In all public servers players can now vote on what map they want to play and in Mixed Arcade, which game as well!
  • [Changed] Voting starts when the minimum number of players for a game is reached.
  • [Changed] Ranked players have a bigger voting weight. Ultra +10%, Hero +20%, Legend +30%, Titan +40%, Eternal +50%.
  • [Changed] To compensate for the voting time, when the game is 100% or 75% full the countdown timer is reduced to 10 or 30 seconds respectively.

Java Cakewars Update[]

  • [Added] Added Polly The Sheep. After 4 seconds she explodes destroying nearby player placed blocks. If she is killed she does not explode.
  • [Changed] Reduced the slow time of Frosting's Balls from 3 to 2.5 seconds.
  • [Changed] Archer's now receive 1 Fletched Arrow per kill.
  • [Added] Added Healing Station 2, which increases the range from 5 to 8 blocks.
  • [Added] Added Power 1 and 2 to the Nether Star Shop.
  • [Removed] Removed Protection 3 from the Nether Star Shop.
  • [Changed] The Nether Star shop now has descriptions for the upgrades.
  • [Changed] Players now drop their resources if it is an Elimination kill.
  • [Changed] Elimination kills are now marked in chat.
  • [Changed] Teammates are now informed about kills and deaths that their team are involved with.
  • [Changed] The bat border is now on all sides of the map.
  • [Changed] Reduced the time that players could be outside of the border from 30 to 20 seconds.
  • [Added] Added a hard cap of 16 players in public servers for Cake Wars Standard.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where Deploy Platforms would count as Knitted Platforms for Builder's passive.

Cake Wars[]

  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue with Cake Wars where enchantments would not apply if the item already had it.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue with Cake Wars where the "Sharpness II" upgrade said if would give your team "Haste II".
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue with Cake Wars where players were able to buy items from the shop when they didn't have enough resources via an exploit.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue with Cake Wars in 1.8 where interacting with the shop NPCs would not always work.

General[]

  • [Changed] Games that previously allowed ULTRA+ to join full games now allow that again.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where missions that incremented at the end of a game didn't work, for example Winner, Enthusiast, Real Champion etc..
  • [Changed] If team balancing is disabled, players are now put onto the team in the lobby.
  • [Changed] Changed the gray "Kit" in the scoreboard to a shinier gold.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue where the cosmetic menu and the hub clock would not appear or not work during voting time.
  • [Fixed] Fixed an issue in MineStrike where the hub clock would stick around after you respawned.
  • [Fixed] Fixed the event game not working.
