The Translations Team (TT) was a Community+ sub-team composed of both community and staff members. The team translated English content into different languages for the Forums and Bedrock server. The team was disbanded on January 18, 2023 due to the ongoing lack of development resources and interest from the Ownership team.

Requirements[]

1818590

Old TT tag

Anyone could join the translations team, as long as they had sufficient knowledge in a foreign language to be able to translate the given content. Additionally, team members would need to have access to a discord account. The main platform used for translations was Crowdin.

Managers[]

At the time of the team's discontinuation, there were 3 managers:

  • TobiGoro (Team Lead)
  • MiningCreeper
  • Spoertt

Team Members[]

A list of members on the team before its closure can be found here.

Languages[]

Mineplex's translations team had translators for over 20 languages.

  • Arabic
  • Chinese (Traditional and Simplified)
  • Croatian
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • Finnish
  • French (European & Quebecois)
  • German
  • Greek
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Norwegian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (Brasil & Portugal)
  • Romanian
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Swedish
  • Turkish

Team Ranks[]

There were 4 different positions on the team:

Translator[]

These team members were in charge of translating 'strings' of text into their language. Basic requirements included a monthly quota, as well as an acceptable activity level.

Proofreader[]

Translators were carefully chosen by management to become their language's proofreader if their respective language lacked one. Proofreaders checked and approved all translations for their language before being released to the public.

Scout[]

Unlike the previous two, this position was open to everyone, even without knowledge of another language. Scouts were in charge of observing the implementation of the 'strings' translated by the Translators. This was done to ensure that all translations were displayed correctly and working as intended.

Manager[]

TT managers handled applications for the team, and worked together with the Development staff to make sure the internationalization process was progressing smoothly. As representatives of the team, they would also be the primary point of contact for all questions and concerns.
